Saw an interesting post about James Franklin...

Someone compared him to CMR.  They said he wins a good number of games and has elevated PSU's program but can't beat the good teams or get PSU over the hump.

No mention of whether or not he is a good man.

I doubt his record against ranked teams is as good as Richt’s was..just spit balling here. I just put Google to work, Richt was .520 in 2015.

I saw 15-28 for Franklin at Penn State..my math says .348

He’s an a**h@le. Met him in the Atlanta airport.

He’s the biggest jerk I’ve ever ran across. I wasn’t even bothering him. Just said, “hey coach…try not to take all those good players from Georgia”. His response was “F you”.

That was just after Grantham got after him.

I don't think the comparison was meant to be exact.  Just that the overall feeling was similar.  I think Richt was better but I could understand the comparison.

good call, Franklin hasn't done as well in the big games. Richt has some brutal luck, again with Bama.....otherwise he wins a Natty

Over 11 full seasons, he has averaged 9.18 wins per season, pretty close to CMR's average over 15 seasons (9.7).  He has one conference championship, CMR had 2 after 11 seasons, and his 5-5 bowl record isn't as good as CMR's 7-4 at the same time.

Like I said, I think CMR was better but the comparison is valid.
