Golf Rant!! Allegedly, there's a big announcement coming on LIV today...

who knows?  Some speculate it's the end for LIV...I don't have that answer.   But, I do know this, EVERY PGA tour player should be thanking the good Lord for LIV coming around.  It significantly raised purses and got the top players a piece of the pie.  Without too much research, most purses doubled after LIV started...not to mention the end of season money doubled.

I know many felt different, but how can you blame a guy like Dechambeau for taking $200M plus?  Anything can happen in this world and you have to take the money when you can.

Brandel Chamblee (The Golf Sloth) is a whiny bitch that made his Masters coverage burn your ears.   He was impossible to watch as a player.

I have a hard time with Rory White Knighting for the Tour.   He was always the highest paid and it was easy for him to turn down BIllions.

Our own Herschel Walker went to the USFL to make his money initially...it was painful to watch but, I can't blame him.

CBS should be the conversation in every Masters Meeting in the stodgy meeting rooms for the next month there.   They turned was usually a great product into an abortion last week.

Rant over.

The Masters definitely need to have a talk with CBS. The coverage I saw was almost amateurish. Also, ANGC needs to tell ESPN to hit the bricks. ESPN was trying so hard to be "edgy" in their Masters coverage and the Masters should have no interest in being edgy.

I hope LIV goes away. They thought they could throw Saudi money at top golfers and create a top level tour. They had no lower level tours or any sort of system to cultivate and bring along young, up and coming golfers. They only wanted to step in and buy the top golfers once they had become successful and by the time they were able to buy those golfers, the golfers were pretty well past their prime. DeChambeau was really their biggest get as far as a golfer who is a current top level golfer. Reed is good, but he is such a prick, no one wants to watch him other than to pull against him and Phil changed from a likeable fan favorite into a bitter jerk once he went to LIV.

I guess the public has moved on from Tiger.  I did notice CBS managed to get as many clips of Tiger playing as possible in the promos and looking back on great Masters moments segments.

Scheffler's comments about the greens being soft on Saturday didn't really surprise me.  I don't think ANGC wanted Rory to run away with the tournament so they made the greens much more forgiving to give the field a chance to catch up.  It worked.  No rain all week was a dream for ANGC.  They could play God and set the greens however they wanted them without having to deal with all that pesky nature.  Getting the field all bunched up on Saturday made for some great golf on Sunday.
