ATHENS, Ga. --- Bulldog senior Moustafa Alsherif has been named the Southeastern Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time following the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, according to a league announcement Tuesday. Alsherif, a native of Cairo, Egypt, sent his top effort in the javelin an NCAA leading 80.52 meters/264 feet, 2 inches to win the men's javelin at the Tom jones meet, making him the No. 25 all-time collegiate performer. This bettered his No. 3 spot in the school record books. Members of Georgia's track and field teams will travel to Auburn, Ala., for the Tiger Track Classic on April 26.
ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia seniors Abby McCulloh and Rachel Stege were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America™ Team, as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. McCulloh, who was a First Team honoree last season, was named to the Second Team, while Stege received Third Team honors. With the pair's selection, Georgia has now produced 45 Academic All-Americans, including at least one in four of the past five seasons.
