I've lived within in a 1.5 mile radius except while attending UGA in just 3 houses  all in Walker County between Rossville and Fort Oglethorpe

First house, my parents, 23 years, but 5 of those years attending UGA.   They built it in 1956 the year I was born.

2nd house bought 6 months before wife and I married. 2 Bedroom and 1 bathroom. Lived there 10 years.  It was a little cottage built in 1930

3rd house,  bought when 2nd child was 2 months old, to have 3 Bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  Been here 36 and half years.
It was built in 1968.

Bought our last house from a guy my brother went to church with who had bought it to be a rental property, but was using it as a love nest with his girlfriend.  His wife found out and made him sell it.  We bought it for just under 47K, assuming his VA loan and paying closing costs of $1200.  He lost nearly 15K to keep his wife from leaving him.  Didn't extend his marriage too much.  He died of a heart attack less than 3 years later.

Daddy had 20 acres. Gave me two of them, as a wedding present in '77. I got married when I was 19, and rented a house in town 5 miles away, while we had our house built on Daddy's two acres. Moved in our new house back on the land I was raised on, in October '78 and been here ever since.

And in that circle, five of Toastee's six X's still live. Does anyone detect a pattern or plot?

About a 10 mile radius for me, not counting years in Athens. Lived in South Augusta when I was born, moved to West Augusta at age 3, North Augusta at age 14, back to West Augusta at age 18, four plus years in Athens, back to West Augusta after college, moved to current house in 1998.
