CLEMSON, S.C./ BOSTON — Georgia track & field splits for Clemson's Tiger Paw Invite and Boston's David Hemery Valentine Invite both held Feb. 13th-14th. The Bulldogs are coming off a bye week, two weeks prior at Arkansas' Razorback Invitational Georgia nabbed 11 top-25 marks bringing the Bulldog's total to 33 top-25 current NCAA marks and times. Action started Friday in the men's 60 meter hurdles where freshman Le'Ezra Brown's season best effort of 7.57 reset the Georgia school record for the second time this season. On the women's side, graduate transfer Shaquena Foote earned her first event win of the season in the 400 meter race with a career-best time of 51.27. Standout redshirt-freshman Adaejah Hodge posted a career best effort of 7.13 in the women's 60 meter dash – that improves on her third place spot in school history and ranks second in the current NCAA standings. In the field, fellow freshman Ava Kitchings also put up an impressive effort in the women's long jump with a season best leap of 6.36m/20-10.50 that earned her second place. Meanwhile in Boston to round out the night, junior Ryan Olree's career-best effort of 13:45.68 in the men's 5000 meter race – that ranks him second in school history.
ATHENS, Ga. – The top-ranked Georgia equestrian team will travel to its last road meet of the season to take on the No. 5 South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday at 11 a.m. at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, South Carolina. The Mane Dawgs are fresh off an NCEA top-five win against No. 4 Texas A&M, 12-7, at home last Saturday as Georgia (7-2, 3-1 SEC) tallied its seventh win of the season.
ATHENS, Ga. — Sixth-ranked Georgia men's baseball (1-0) defeated Wright State 13-1 in dominant fashion to earn the Opening Day victory Friday in front of a sellout crowd of 3,633 at Foley Field. Joey Volchko and Caden Aoki took care of business on the mound, combining for 13 strikeouts, and Tre Phelps and Daniel Jackson each hit home runs in the blowout win.
CLEARWATER, Fla. – The No. 17 Georgia Bulldogs softball Dawgs defeated both NC State and UCF in run-rule fashion on Friday at the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational. The 16-2 (5 inn.) win over NC State and the 13-5 (5 inn.) decision over UCF moves Georgia to 7-2 on the season. Georgia will close out its Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational action with an early afternoon match up with Northwestern at 1:00 p.m. ET before taking on No. 19 Duke at 4:00 p.m. ET.
ATHENS, Ga. --- The University of Georgia men's tennis team will host The Citadel for a doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 15. The first match will begin at 10 a.m. while the second is slated for a 2p.m. start at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
FORT WORTH, Tx. - No. 6 Georgia Gymnastics is on the road this Saturday, Feb. 14, taking on No. 10 Stanford, No. 20 Cal, and Air Force at the Metroplex Challenge. The meet begins at 8:15 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
NORMAN, Ok. - The Georgia Bulldogs men's basketball team will make their first-ever trip to Norman, Okla., on Saturday to face Oklahoma's Sooners in just the fourth meeting in the series between the two programs. Saturday's contest will be the third road outing over the last four weeks for the Bulldogs. In addition, Georgia's last three weekend opponents were coming off of a mid-week open date.
