Olive Garden and Carrabas are Italian Applebees

PF Changs is Asian Applebees.

It’s all made from the same, pre-packaged Sysco crap!

Never ceases to amaze me how every chain on 78 in Athens is packed when there are 20 local places with better food at a very similar price.

We took our granddaughters to Olive Garden this past weekend in North Carolina and I could not believe how bad it was. The little girls thought it was great because we let them dress up a bit (they’re 6 and 4), but MsToccoa and I both thought the food was abysmal. I hadn’t been to one in a while, but don’t plan to go back.

Peach cobbler at City bbq is likely the best I’ve ever had. Turkey good too…can’t speak for the rest.

When it opened, Jim & Nicks wasn’t the best bbq around but was not a bad meal either but definitely not the same after Covid, went downhill fast.

Heirloom bbq is 3 miles from us, always good…but IMO, best around and consistent bbq in the state is
Bigun’s bbq in Talking Rock, just north of Jasper, always just the right smoke flavor in all the meat… sides are also best I’ve had in a bbq joint, best fried okra, just like Mom used to cook in her cast iron pan, and they give you a pile of it.
