College sports are headed to some dark days unless someone steps up.
Can you see Tennessee Flouride Toothpaste Volunteers? Or Texas New York Picante Sauce Longhorns?

They'll come up with some shit strategy to sell real estate owned by the ADs and lease it back to them so that the ADs get this huge influx of cash with no risk to the PE firms, and then the costs of everything will increase to the fans.  Meanwhile, the ADs will spend more money on players and coaches.  One or two bad years means reduced attendance and steep financial losses until the smaller ADs declare bankruptcy...  It's a terrible approach that seems appealing for the short term only.
