NEW ORLEANS – Georgia, will be featured in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in the Caesars Superdome. The Bulldogs will face the winner of the College Football Playoff First-Round Game between Ole Miss and Tulane. The Allstate Sugar Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. (Central) and will be televised by ESPN. The Allstate Sugar Bowl will be doubling as a College Football Playoff (CFP) game for the sixth time since the CFP was established for the 2014 season. It has hosted four CFP Semifinals (2014, 2017, 2020, 2023) and one CFP Quarterfinal (2024); those five CFP games have combined for over 100 million worldwide viewers on ESPN's platforms. The Bulldogs will be the 97th conference champion to play in the Sugar Bowl in its 92-year history.
Ole Miss (11-1, 7-1 SEC) posted the program's first-ever 11-win regular season this year – the Rebels are looking to make their 11th trip to the Sugar Bowl and their first since the 2021 season.
Tulane (10-2, 7-1 American), meanwhile, is looking to make its first trip to the Sugar Bowl since the 1939 season when the Green Wave fell to national champion Texas A&M, 14-13. It would be the third overall trip for the Green Wave, including a 20-14 victory over Temple in the inaugural Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 1935. Ole Miss already beat Tulane earlier this year 45 to 10. Looks like a rematch Ole Miss game and Kirby is 4-0 in rematch games.
Georgia will be making its 13th Sugar Bowl appearance, tied for the second most all-time. It has posted a 5-7 all-time mark.
Georgia has recorded 31 seasons with 10 or more victories, including each of the past six years. This will be the 64th bowl appearance for Georgia; it has an all-time bowl mark of 38-22-3.
Georgia will be making its 41st trip to Louisiana – the Bulldogs have an 18-21-1 record in the Pelican State with a 6-7 record in New Orleans against Tulane, a 5-6-1 mark against LSU in Baton Rouge, a 5-6 Sugar Bowl record (the 2006 Sugar Bowl was played in Atlanta), and a 2-2 record in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 29 national champions, 110 Hall of Fame players, 55 Hall of Fame coaches and 21 Heisman Trophy winners in its 91-year history.
