Some Munson befoer you head to the Islands...

Jacksonville.  For some it’s just a city in Northeast Florida.  But once a year, the city limits are expanded to places like St. Simons, Amelia Island, Deltona, and anywhere on the Atlantic with a timeshare and transportation to the game.  There is bowl game level revelry in the middle of the season.  Classes get skipped.  PTO gets used.  Real and imagined excuses for missing family functions are employed.  This is the Georgia Florida game.  The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.  The War for the Oar. Scratch that.  No one really calls it that.  That’s an attempt to convince you that no one drinks alcohol at this game. But you get the picture and you are too smart to be fooled by renaming long standing traditions.  Right, Cleveland and Washington?
This year the rowdiness meter is clearly favoring the Dawgs.  They are still very much in the hunt for Atlanta and the even bigger prize after Atlanta. They have a football player at QB, and a refuse to lose attitude that has been tested already this season.
In stark contrast, the Gators come into this year’s matchup bruised and bloody.  Their coach is gone.  Completely.  The schedule proved too much.  Too big.  Too brutal. There will be no Atlanta.  No Playoff. And they will need to shock some teams to even make a bowl.
But that may mean they are even more dangerous.  They still have talent.  You know that any Florida team will have ungodly amounts of speed. They have a highly recruited QB that hurt us a little last year before getting injured.  They’ve knocked off Texas already this year.  And nothing would make the repugnant reptile republic happier than to kick us right in the teeth.
History says the team that rushes the ball best wins this game.  Hopefully we can start strong and fix some issues we’ve had on defense all year. Will someone etch their name in the history book of this great rivalry?  Is there a Lindsay Scott, Appleby to Washington, or a 4th and Dumb call where Johnny Henderson from Macon grabs them by the arm and turns the game on its head?
You might want to protect any property you don’t want destroyed, just in case.  Go Dawgs.

That was fantastic. You've found a niche on the Board.

I had to cancel my SSI trip today. Came down with a brutal cold from out of nowhere. I really hate that I can't go since this will be the last game in Jax for a couple years.
