STARKVILLE, Miss. – In a dramatic match, the University of Georgia soccer team bested No. 25 Mississippi State, 1-0, Sunday afternoon before 276 spectators at the MSU Soccer Field. Graduate BK Harris scored the winner in the 76th minute for Georgia (10-3-5, 6-1-3 SEC), her first goal as a Bulldogs. With the victory, Georgia clinched a third-place finish in the final SEC standings, tied with the 2001 team for its second-highest finish in program history. The Bulldogs also earned a first-round bye for the fifth time in program history. Sunday's match was tightly officiated with the Bulldogs receiving 23 fouls, the most in a single match since 1998. The Bulldogs were also given five yellow cards in the match. Georgia's victory was the first road win over a ranked opponent since topping No. 5 LSU, 2-1, in overtime in the 2021 season. The Bulldogs also secured six SEC victories for the first time since 2011. Third-seeded Georgia will face the winner of the Kentucky-Florida first round matchup in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. EDT in Pensacola, Florida. The match will air live on SEC Network.
ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia Bulldogs men's basketball team defeated Troy, 81-65, in a preseason exhibition at Stegeman Coliseum on Sunday. Sophomore Kanon Catchings led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Georgia opens the regular season at home against Bellarmine on Monday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Georgia volleyball team saw its six-match win streak end on Sunday, dropping a four-set decision to the Missouri Tigers, 3-1. Georgia is now 14-6 on the season and 6-4 in SEC play. Georgia hosts Florida and Auburn next weekend at Stegeman Coliseum. Friday's match between Georgia and Florida begins at 7 p.m. and will stream live on SEC Network+. The first 500 fans will take home a Halloween-themed Georgia Volleyball t-shirt.
ROME, Ga. — Freshman Emily Deming and sophomore Hayden Mulberry closed out the Rome Collegiate Invite on Saturday tallying three wins at the Rome Tennis Center. Select Bulldogs will compete in W35 Orlando beginning Monday, Nov. 3 with ITA Sectional competitions hosted by LSU following immediately from Nov. 6-9 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
