Y’all do realize Bama played almost a perfect game…

Other than a couple of penalties and a dropped pass, they played almost flawless.  We blinked (fumbled) and had a couple of untimely penalties.

I think it was 2 better than average teams that played ok. Ranked 10 and 12 feels about right.

Without any pressure on their offense they could afford to. Then all they had to do was coast I. The second half until they needed to uncork a little. It was a big brother taunting ass kicking. We can pretend we should have won if, if, & if but that’s what Vols do. We got beat. AND we helped em by stupidity.
Maybe next time.

Yeah, but our coach got out-coached, again. I am starting to wonder if he thinks there isn’t needed improvement in his skill set and the other coaches. It’s one thing to give his responsibility lip service. It’s another thing to change.

You’re spot on!   I was merely pointing out, with all that, they had to play a perfect game to beat us.

Not sure a perfect game entails not scoring for an entire half. Maybe a perfect 1st half.
They still away with the OL holding on pass plays over and over again.

Holding calls were missed and their center moved pre-snap on almost every play.

Bama played very conservative in the second half and our defense played much better.  But, they never turned it over.  Kept us on our side of the field and driving 90+ yards almost every time.

Saw an old video yesterday of Lil Nicky, I realize he’s no longer there.  He was telling the story of the first coaching rule he learned in HS from his corch. Summing it up…it’s not about the play you call at a critical time, but the player you call to make the play. Think he might have shared that with Kirby at some time during the years they coached together?

Remember when Kirby said "we came to hunt"?  Yeah, that's not happening anymore.  It hasn't for the last 2 seasons.  We spot teams 2-3 scores because they aren't ready, and have a "playing not to lose" offensive approach, and it's a bad recipe for winning.

And it's nothing new.  I really may go dig up some info this week out of curiosity, we seem to start with a 3 and out a LOT

Damn right. I knew it was bad when Bama put Willie B out there on the end. On about 3rd and around 7. Passed it to him. Our guys pin balling off him. Wonder we didn't have an injury. Son of a bitch bout scored.
